This is a shot of a Tomato Root through the Microscope. Lighting is Epi-Florescence which is a narrow spectrum of light (around 500 nm) that makes phosphorus glow! This technique of lighting helps us see mycorrhizal relationships providing phosphorus to the plant. Image was taken using the 100x microscope objective and is a focal stack of almost 100 images taken at different focus. Camera settings were 1/30 and 320 ISO. Images are all straight from the camera with no digital effects or modification.
